Randy Johnson to the Giants

So sayeth Robo. No financial details yet. Just that it's, as expected, a one year deal. My big bold Boxing Day prediction: the Giants get more out of the Big Unit in 2009 than the Yankees get out of Burnett.

Is there a more appropriate team for Johnson to be on?

Isn’t this what the Giants do best? Spend a lot of money on a big name pitcher nearing the end of his career. It gives the fans great hope, then we watch them implode.

The SF paper is reporting 1 year, $8M. He’ll be the 3rd starter, behind Lincecum and Cain, ahead of Sanchez and Zito, though the Giants may spread the lefties out a bit.
