Three Cheers for IIATMS!

Jason, hitting the bigtime:

It's About The Money, Stupid has been selected by Rob Neyer and ESPN to be a charter member of what will be a new blog network on ESPN.com known as ESPN.com's SweetSpot Blog Network! IIATMS has the distinct honor of being the sole blog representing the New York Yankees in this network throughout the 2009 Playoffs, and hopefully into 2010 and beyond.

There are still some technical things to be worked out as far as look and feel (I think he's going to be available via a pulldown menu at ESPN, but he'll correct me if I'm wrong). The network is set to officially launch on Monday, October 5th.

Congrats, Jason!

And a huge ‘thank you’ to you and all the good folks here who also find the time to drop by my place every now and then.

Great news Jason and congrats on the selection.

So what’s it like getting called up the big leagues?  I heard that the all the women who read ESPN blogs have long legs and brains.

Sellout!

Nah, just kidding. It’s good to have more than two readable voices on the baseball part of the dot com.

And ESPN takes another step backward. This blog is the best they could come up with? Should fit in nicely at a place where they employ Joe Morgan as a “baseball analyst” I suppose.

You stay classy, Jason.

It’s kind of a stupid “honor,” anyhow. I mean. Neyer already has a blogroll on Sweet Spot, and IATMS is already listed there. What’s the big change? It will be a pulldown menu now, instead of a list? Wow! Stop the presses!

It may not be the PC thing to say here, but I agree with Charles. Not a great blog, and kind of a half-baked idea on the part of ESPN. Yawn.

Rob Neyer is no longer the most handsome baseball writer at ESPN.

Couldn’t be happier for Jason, a real class act.

Well, I would imagine that while it’ll be a pulldown menu, it will probably be in the vein of the TrueHoop blog network over on the NBA part of the ESPN site.  Then you’re taken to the blog, either hosted by ESPN or not, and it’ll be easy to jump from blog to blog, too, through a sidebar.  That’s the idea of a network, no? To get around easier?  I’m excited to see how it goes - I just hope that when he expands it, Rob adds Craig to it, too!

Charles, you want ME to stay classy?  I don’t get it.  Have you no respect or idea what it takes for me, or Craig, or anyone else to put their thoughts and ideas out there for your consumption for little or no compensation?  What wasn’t classy, Charles?  Not thanking your for the slight?

For those of you with the kind words, many thanks.

And if you, like John, don’t care for my site, that’s perfectly fine.  Email me and make a suggestion how to better it.  I’m always looking for contributions.
