Today at THT

You know what happiness is? Happiness is having your mother-in-law AND your brother staying with you for a week. Yep it's a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency in the Calcaterra house. But we're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny effing Kaye.

  • Big Bad Don Malcom looks at the relationship between leading the league in RBI and winning the MVP award. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I sure hope he doesn't render my annual outrage over the MVP voting less reasonable.

  • Richard Barbieri looks back at all of the mistakes he made in his This Annotated Week in Baseball History column. I'd do something similar, but there isn't enough server capacity in the country to hold such a beast.

  • Finally, over at Fantasy Focus, Derek Carty asks whether fantasy leagues should try to mimic real-life baseball. I dunno, man. Reality can be overrated.

Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an a**hole in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer...

Is that Shysterball’s Christmas Vacation?  And are you installing a pool with your bonus?

Ya know, I just watched not White Christmas (Bing Crosby with Danny effing Kaye), but the other Christmas movie, Holiday Inn (Bing Crosby with Fred Effeing Astaire), the other day, for the first time.  And, to my surprise, there’s a good amount of Blackface in the movie.  Hey oh!  And the movie is about two guys ruining each other’s weddings.  MERRY CHRISTMAS.  Jeebus.
