Today at THT

Things to read as you sit at home, overestimating your value and your bargaining power:

  • Steve Treder writes about a league that existed once upon a time called the Sunset League. Goes to show you that you can poke your nose around this game for years and still find stuff you've never, ever heard of.


  • Josh Kalk talks about pitchers and "the injury zone." Turns out he's referring to pitch counts and fatigue and stuff. I had thought he had meant an invisible ten foot radius that surrounds Mike Hampton at all times.


  • Jeff Sackmann talks Division 2 baseball, wondering how good it truly is. No, you still weren't good enough to play it, I don't care how good your backyard knuckleball was.


  • Finally, over at Fantasy Focus, Paul Singman hooks Carlos Lee up to the Consistency Meter. Lee is a shy type, easy to spook, so it was hard to lure him over to the machine in the first place. Later, however, Singman convinced him that it was a food dispenser of some sort.


    • Note to Odalis Perez: those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
