Roy Clark to the Nats?

Rosenthal has the Nats interviewing Braves’ scouting director Roy Clark for the assistant GM job.

If Clark were to jump ship, it would be . . . bad.

Clark has been courted by the Nats before and turned them down. That was more of a lateral move, however. If Robo is right, this is something else entirely.

Don’t worry, Craig: so long as you hold on to Buck Owens, you’re keeping the really talented half of the duo.

I was gonna make a Hee-Haw joke there myself (something about Junior Samples, most likely) but figured that it would fly over the head of everyone.  Maybe I’m not the oldest person around here.

Where, oh where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and thought I’d found true love.
You met another and phfffft you were gone!

    Hee Haw!

Here’s what he will say to about 2/3 of the Nats’ roster:

Thank God and Greyhound you’re gone
That load on my mind got lighter when you got on
That shiny old bus is a beautiful sight
With the black smoke a-rolling up around the taillight
It may sound kind-a cruel but I’ve been silent too long
Thank God and Greyhound you’re gone.
