The A’s release Giambi

You kinda saw this one coming.

I can only assume that Giambi still wants to play somewhere. If not, don’t you think that the A’s and him would have tried to work out some sort of retirement announcement? I dunno. Maybe contract stuff complicated it. As it is, I think there’s zero chance that he latches on anywhere at this point.

I have always liked Giambi, he did have 100 RBIs last year, hope he lands somewhere.  TigersfanRob says they need more offense, or he could always go to the final graveyard of ex-Yankees a la Sheffield, and would probably be their home run leader by Labor Day.

If Delgado has a setback and after Giambi clears waivers, then I would like him as a fit for the Mets.
