The graphics next to each team are called “sparklines.” They depict each team’s performance over the last month. Each “up” bar is a victory and a “down” bar is a loss. There are horizontal lines for home games and gray bars represent games decided by two runs or less. Other team graphs and stats can be found on our Team Page.

Game of the Day

Oakland’s cylinders are all clicking. The A’s have won 11 of 13 on good hitting , fielding and pitching and the A’s are now only half a game behind Texas. The bullpen has been outstanding, and Frank Thomas has a 1.113 OPS in June, though he strained a right quad during the game and could be out a while. Top Minor League Games

First Inning is a cutting-edge minor league website that tracks the individual play of every minor leaguer. The site includes historical and current stats, splits, scouting reports, game logs, major league projections and player news, and I’ve probably forgotten a few things. The following list, provided by First Inning, includes the top minor league batting (based on Runs Created) and pitching (based on Game Score) performances from yesterday.

THT’s Stats

It’s the stat that Moneyball made famous. On Base Percentage (OBP) is important for two reasons: One, because getting on base generally leads to runs. Two, when you get on base you don’t make an out. Arguably, the second reason is more important than the first. Here’s a list of the top non-out makers this year; all batters with an OBP of at least .400.
