A suggestion for the commissioner regarding home run No. 756

I know you’re very uncomfortable with Barry Bonds approaching the all-time MLB home run record. The indisputable evidence of whether Bonds used performance-enhancing anabolic substances hasn’t come to the fore, so you’re unsure of how, or if, you should commemorate the feat. Complicating matters is your relationship with Hank Aaron.

If I might offer a suggestion on how to handle this, you may wish to do the following…

… be in attendance for home run No. 755. After Bonds has hit it, go onto the field and declare the all-time home run record a tie and in the future, should anybody else hit 756 HR—this time it counts!

Best Regards

John
