We’ve got your Win Shares, good through games of September 2nd. Despite the Yankees’ recent woes, Gary Sheffield is starting to break away from the pack in the AL MVP race. He now has 27 Win Shares and 14 WSAA, compared to his nearest competitors, Carlos Guillen (!) and teammate Hideki Matsui (both at 24/10).
