Classic THT Annual Articles!

Recently, we had a request to reprint Sean Smith’s piece from The Hardball Times Annual 2011, entitled, “Do Catchers Have an ERA?” While the research pieces presented in the Annual over the years have been helpful to the sabermetric community, one thing that isn’t helpful is that they’re not shareable online. Now, Sean’s piece is.

This also got us thinking about other classic pieces. So, we’ve created a new landing page for classic THT Annual pieces. You can find it at that link (obviously), or by rolling over “Articles” on the nav bar at the top of the page.

It will be slow going recreating these pieces, and the goal certainly isn’t to create a comprehensive archive. But we feel there are articles that hold up well and would be useful to researchers, analysts and readers today. We have a laundry list of classic pieces that we’d like to get up online for your reading pleasure, but we’re also open to suggestions. If you have some, please let us know in the comments.
