Links (not a prank)

Happy April fool’s day, everybody. If some prankster gets you feeling down, just remember to smile, and it will all be better.

-This one is no laughing matter. Diamond Hoggers tried to get some kind of interview/Q&A going with the Reds’ Jay Bruce, and were firmly denied. I have no idea why a team would act like this, except maybe when the player in question has some kind of negative publicity going, and the team is “protecting” him from the media. I’m sure if they has asked Jay Bruce himself if he’d like to answer some questions, he’d gladly say yes.

-The Daily Caller proposes a three-league format for MLB. I don’t see this happening any time soon, but it’s an interesting read nonetheless.

-Former minor league pitcher Garrett Broshuis talks about the financial situation of players in the minor leagues, and how many players are struggling to make ends meet. Thousands and thousands of ballplayers are willing to play for peanuts to get a shot at the big time, and the MLB Players Union doesn’t seem to give a damn about them.

-Meanwhile, Hank Black says he ain’t never goin’ back down.

-Joe Posnanski is compiling the Bad Baseball Hall of Fame, which is pretty funny on the surface. If you’d like to help him out, you can find that here.
