Meet the Mets

As of the fifth inning, the Mets are leading the Phillies 10-0 tonight. They’ve hit four home runs (two by Cameron), giving them 27 in their last ten games, a new team record. Over the last twenty games, the Mets lead the NL with 31 homers.

With all their regular players healthy, the Mets do have a strong lineup. Floyd, Cameron and a rejuvenated Hidalgo are in the outfield, plus Phillips, Piazza, Reyes, Matsui and Wigginton in the infield. Lately, Wigginton has been sending David Wright a message: “Not yet, rookie.”
