Reliever BABIP

Pizza Cutter finds that Troy Percival has a career BABIP figure below average. Supposedly, this rocks the common wisdom, but elite relievers have always had a relatively low BABIP. Check out Mariano Rivera’s career BABIP someday (okay, I’ll tell you. It’s .268. Usually, BABIP is around .290). Or read this article of mine from a few years ago (relevant point at the bottom).
