Wrong!

In my “Ten Things” article this morning, I noted that Kansas City had lost 99 games in a row when trailing in the ninth. Wrong! As that article was going to “press,” the Royals were scoring three runs in the ninth to beat the White Sox 10-9. Proving that timing is everything.

According to the morning SABR-L digest, Arizona currently has the longest streak of not coming from behind in the ninth, at 149 games. KC had been second.

Dave Studeman was called a "national treasure" by Rob Neyer. Seriously. Follow his sporadic tweets @dastudes.
