Today at THT

Things to read while you realize that, sadly, nobody’s looking for a puppeteer in today’s wintry economic climate:

  • Victor Wang has the second part of his farm system rankings, this time with the top 15. It’s nice to see my team at #3, but this just kills: “Atlanta would easily have the top farm system if it had its prospects from the Mark Teixeira trade.”
  • Richard Barbieri’s This Annotated Week in Baseball History starts with a neat item: “On March 8, 1984 Richard Barbieri was born.” Rich uses that as a jumping off point to name an all-March 8th birthday team. And it’s not a bad team, but unlike me, he doesn’t share a birthday with the real Crash Davis.
  • Finally, over at Fantasy Focus, Alex Zelvin expounds on his Yahoo! league strategy, mentioned first last week, of stockpiling middle relievers. The more I read of this, the more certain I am that I am going to tank in my Yahoo! league.
  • Apologies if there is any weirdness around here today. See, I watched “Being John Malkovich” last night for the first time in several years, and I truly had forgotten how trippy it is. On the bright side, my dormant crush on Catherine Keener has been revived, so that’s nice.

Craig-did you ever catch Catherine Keener in Out of Sight?

She had a smallish part as Clooney’s girlfriend, but she was perfect, perfect in the role.

Yep.  That, Living in Oblivion, and Malkovich kind of formed the basis of my whole Keener thing.  It helped that, in Malkovich, she often directs her attentions to a charcter she calls “Craigy.”

At this point I probably have said too much.
