Workin’ for The Man

Hey all — the day job is taking me out of town for most of the day today. Cincinnati if you must know, for an oral argument. I can’t tell you exactly what it’s about, but suffice it to say that no one will accept my idea of a benevolent dictatorship run by someone like me, and instead insists on their “free speech” rights and their right to “equal protection under the law.” Crybabies.

The upshot to all of this is that there isn’t going to be any posting around here today. Probably not, anyway. I mean, there’s a slight chance I’ll show back up late in the afternoon with something, but I wouldn’t bet the mortgage on it, as I’m probably going to be whipped.

I’ll definitely be back tomorrow morning with — gasp! — game recaps.

Craig

Watch for the state troopers as you head into Cincy – they like set up in the King’s Island area and love the area right before the bridge over the Little Miami River.

You can stop by the outlet malls in Jeffersonville and pick up a little something all the other Shysters.  Nothing like showing up at home with goodies.

Hey…your dreams could come true. Abraham Lincoln went to Cincy to argue a case as a lawyer too and look how he turned out.

Never stop living the dream of becoming dictator (though, do remember, like Lincoln, most dictators end up getting shot in the head).

Wow, Lincoln was a dictator?

I really missed that one in all those history classes I took in college.

He was a benevolent dictator (I mean he did suspend habeas corpas, so…)

I wonder how he would have done throwing out the first pitch…he had a Randy Johnson-like physique

This is all fine and dandy, but what am I supposed to do at work all day?

Work???  I think not.

I can only assume “argument” is some kind of euphemism.

At least you have work to distract you from a lack of Shysterball…  Some of us had the day off and had to suffer alone…

Whipped after some oral something-or-other.  Um-hmm.

You go with that.

Went well. I think I’m going to win. The judge smiled at me and frowned at opposing counsel a lot.  Good sign.

I just saw the words “Cincinnati” and “oral arguments” in the same sentence and immediately assumed new horizons in the 5-way.

So how did that oral argument go?  you win or going to win?
